Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
SCHOOL CLOSES THIS FRIDAY AT 3:15PM AND RE-OPENS ON TUESDAY 5TH JUNE.
As part of our next topic, “How Does Your Garden Grow”, it is our intention to take all Year 3 children on a visit to Bring Yer Wellies to learn more about plants, herbs, flowers and wildlife.
The trip will take place on Wednesday 13th June. More details will follow.
As the beautiful summer weather continues it is very important that all children bring a hat to protect their heads from the sunshine whilst playing outside. Please can you also ensure that sun cream is applied daily at home before your child comes to school, as this protects any skin exposed to the sun.
Please can all reception children make sure they arrive on time tomorrow for our trip. It is recommended that all children wear wellies and a waterproof coat regardless of the weather as we will be outdoors for most of the day. A packed lunch will be provided for children who have requested one from the school kitchen. If you chose to provide your own lunch please make sure that it is in a carrier bag labelled with your child's name and all the contents will be disposed of after we have eaten lunch so no lunch boxes, plastic drinks bottles or metal cutlery please.
To celebrate the upcoming Royal wedding, we will be holding a red, white and blue themed day this Friday 18th May. Children are invited to wear red, white and blue clothes and we will be carrying out fun activities during the day, linked to the wedding.
As you will already know, we have a very close partnership with Blackburn Foodbank. They have issued an urgent appeal for donations of tinned tomatoes. If you could possibly spare a tin, we know that they would be very grateful. Donations can be sent into school and we will arrange for them to be dropped off at the foodbank. As always, we thank you for your kindness and generosity.
MONDAY 14TH MAY to THURSDAY 17TH MAY
Year 6 SATs will take place next week from the 14th to the 17th May. School will provide all equipment, pens, pencils etc. It is very important that children are on time to school and do not have any appointments.
Here are some useful tips for successful SATs:
SATs are important as secondary schools now ‘set’ children on these results so we want you to do well.
During SATs week, we would like to invite children from Year 6 to attend breakfast club for free. We believe that this will help prevent children from being late to school during such an important time.
If any children in Year 6 have siblings that wish to attend breakfast club, there will be a small charge of £1 per day.
Nursery will not be open on Friday 11th May for those that are not attending the trip.
This Friday, children can wear their own blue and white clothes to celebrate Blackburn Rovers Football Club being promoted.
Every child that takes part is being asked to contribute £1 to support Blackburn Rovers Community Trust.
