Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
If your child has a problem in school, please discuss this with their class teacher in the first instance. They will endeavour to solve the issue as quickly as possible. If you are unhappy with the outcome of their investigations, then please make an appointment to see Mr Brown or Mrs Brown.
Please note it is not always possible to see Mr Brown or Mrs Brown the same day.
Thank-you to everyone that contributed and came to the summer fair. We raised a grand total of
£470!!
We have been informed of an online game/app called DOKI DOKI which poses risks to young people in terms of their emotional health. It is strongly advised that children and young people do not have access to this game/app as it has led to some serious mental health concerns in some of its users. Please check if your children have access to this and if so, take appropriate action to stop them from using it.
If your child would normally receive a free school meal and you have any concerns over the long summer holiday period, we may be able to help. Please contact Mrs Smith at school before the 13th July.
There will be an information meeting at 3:30pm on Thursday 28th June for parents of all Year 6 pupils who will be going to Hothersall Lodge. Mr Blackmore will be explaining the activities that the children will be doing while they are away and answer any questions that parents may have about the residential trip.
It’s hard to believe that we are nearly at the end of another school year! To prepare our children well for next year, we are holding a five-day Moving Up Week, starting on Monday 2nd July. We ask that all children are dropped off at their usual entrance on Monday the 2nd but request that they are collected from their new exit at home time on Monday. For the rest of the week, they will need to be dropped off and picked up at their new entrance/exit. If you are not sure where that will be, please ask your child’s current teacher this week. The children will get to spend a whole week in their new classroom, getting to know the staff in their new class and important routines. This means they will be ready to go when we come back in September! All classes will be taught by their new teacher for the full week, except Y1. They will have their new teacher, Mr. Whittaker on the Monday and will then be taught by Mr Worden for the rest of the week. New and current Nursery children will be taught for the full week by our new Nursery teacher, Miss Margison. Arrangements for the induction of new Nursery and Reception children have already been communicated to parents/carers; if you are not sure of these arrangements, please contact the school office. All children that receive additional adult support will continue to do so in Moving Up Week and in September. All staffing for this remains as it is this year, unless you have already been informed otherwise by Mrs. Brown. Most of our Y6 children will be out visiting their new high schools on Wednesday 4th- Friday 6th. Those that are not will be provided for within school. If you are a parent/carer of a Y6 child and are unsure of their transition arrangements, please contact the high schools directly. All staff are looking forward to meeting their new class- Moving Up Week was a great success last year and we know it will be just as effective this year in supporting a smooth transition for our children.
The children will be reading as much as possible in school and at home over the course of the week. They will shortly receive more information along with their sponsor form, and we are hoping to raise as much money as possible towards book for our library that is due to be refurbished in summer.
We are holding a summer fair on Friday 22nd June at 3.15pm. For this to be a success we need your help!
Please can we ask for donations of any of the following….
If you are able to donate any of the above items, please send your item/s with your child or drop them off at the school office.
Thanking you in advance of your support.

Chair of PTA
We have noticed that a number of younger children are bringing mobile phones into school. School has a no phone policy unless there are exceptional circumstances such as: the child(ren) are staying with other family members or when walking home from school.
All phones must be handed to the office at the beginning of the day and collected at 3.15pm.
Please can parents/carers ensure that children have full PE kit/ swimming kit (Y4) in school.
Children in Reception-Y6 require a PE kit. All parts of the kit need to be named, as does their kit bag. Please ensure that your child has their P.E. kit in school every day as sometimes their P.E. session may change.
