    Christmas Pantomime

    It’s that time of year again! Years 1-6 will be going to see Dick Whittington at KGH in the afternoon of Wednesday 14th December. In order for us to receive the lowest possible price, we have to make payment before the half term holiday. The price this year is £7.50 per child which includes a drink at the interval. Payment should be made by 11th October 2016.

    Secondary School Admissions

    We no longer receive paper applications for high school admissions and parents should apply using the following link:

    www.blackburn.gov.uk/admissions.

    It is very important that if you are applying for a place at OLSJ or St Bede’s that you provide a copy of a Baptism Certificate. Applications must be made by Monday 31st October 2016.

    Primary School Admissions

    If you have a child born between the 1st September 2012 and 31st August 2013 you will need to apply for a place for them to start primary school in September 2017. You should apply online at:

    www.blackburn.gov.uk/admissions.

    If you would like any help with your application, please call in to the office and we will help you with it.

    The closing date for Primary applications and supplementary forms is 15th January 2017.

  • Toiletries Wanted

    A charity very local to school which supports homeless people in our parish has just appealed for shower gel, deodorant and toilet roll. If any of our families have any to spare or could donate even one item, I'm sure they would be very grateful for our support. If you wish to donate, just bring your items into school and we will pass them on.
  • Welcome Back!

    A very warm welcome to all of our pupils, new and old. The building work is now more or less complete and we now have new fencing, new interior doors, a full hall re-furbishment and all the classrooms have brand new 70” touchscreens. It’s been a busy summer!

  • Clubs

    Breakfast club and after school clubs have started again. Breakfast club is £1 per day and children can be dropped off from 8am. After school clubs should be booked in advance – a separate letter has been sent home.

     

    In addition, we will also have the following sports clubs:

     

    Football – Years 5 & 6 – Tuesdays

    Netball – Years 4, 5 & 6 – Wednesdays

    Running – Years 3, 4 5 & 6 – Thursday

     

    All sports clubs will finish at 4.15pm. Children will use their PE kit but should bring a pair of trainers. Please see Miss Griffiths if you would like to join.

  • Data Collection Sheets

    These will be going home this week – please do check them and return as soon as possible, even if there are no changes. It is vital that we have correct contact details in case we need to get in touch with you. In addition, there may be times when we send out text messages to parents – if we do not have a number, you may miss out on important information.

  • Awards Assembly

    Just a reminder that we have an Awards Assembly every Friday morning at 9.00am.  If your child has received an award, they will bring home a letter the night before. everyone is welcome to come.
