At St. Anne’s R.C. Primary School, we recognise the important role that physical education, physical activity and sport play in supporting our pupils’ health, wellbeing, confidence and personal development.

The PE and Sport Premium is additional government funding provided to primary schools to make sustainable improvements to the quality of PE, sport and physical activity they offer.

At St. Anne’s, we use this funding to provide opportunities that encourage all children to be active, develop new skills and enjoy sport, regardless of their starting point or individual needs. We are committed to ensuring that pupils with SEND, disadvantaged pupils and children who may be less confident in physical activity have the support and opportunities they need to participate fully.

Our funding is used to support areas including staff development, high-quality PE teaching, extracurricular clubs, competitive sport, inclusive activities, swimming and water safety, and opportunities for pupils to experience a wider range of sports.

Our PE and Sport Premium Action Plan is closely linked to our wider school improvement priorities, particularly high-quality teaching, inclusion, wellbeing, participation and enrichment.

Through our provision, we aim to develop healthy habits, teamwork, resilience, confidence and a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.
