Wednesday Word
The Wednesday Word is a special resource that helps children and their families reflect on the Sunday Gospel each week. It is shared with school every Wednesday and provides a simple and engaging way to explore the message of the upcoming Gospel reading. Through stories, prayers, and activities, the Wednesday Word encourages children to think about how they can live out the values of the Gospel in their daily lives. It also supports families in coming together to grow in faith and deepen their understanding of the teachings of Jesus.
This Week's Wednesday Word
✨ This Week’s Wednesday Word: PENTECOST ✨
This week’s Gospel tells us about the disciples gathered together in a locked room after Jesus had died and risen. They were afraid and unsure of what would happen next. Suddenly, Jesus came among them and said, “Peace be with you.” He showed them his hands and his side, and the disciples were filled with joy.
Jesus then breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” (John 20:19–23)
This special moment is celebrated as Pentecost – often called the birthday of the Church – when the Holy Spirit filled the disciples with courage, peace and joy, helping them go out and share the Good News with the world.
