"And he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills—to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze."

The intent of our Design Technology programme at St Anne’s Roman Catholic Primary School is to inspire creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills in our pupils, fostering an enthusiasm for design and construction while integrating our Catholic values. We aim to provide a curriculum that equips children with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge necessary to make informed choices about the materials and processes they use, cultivating an appreciation for the impact of design technology on daily life.
Our curriculum has been designed to ensure that all pupils:
· Develop a clear understanding of the design process, including research, development, and evaluation.
· Gain proficiency in using a range of tools and materials safely and effectively, promoting confidence and independence.
· Engage with real-world problems through project-based learning, encouraging collaboration and communication.
· Reflect on their designs’ ethical and environmental implications, rooted in our Catholic ethos of stewardship and care for creation.
· Have opportunities to engage with professionals within the field, fostering aspiration and offering insights into future pathways.
