Reading Ambassadors

📚 Welcome to the Reading Ambassadors' Page at St Anne’s Primary School 📚

At St Anne's RC Primary School, we believe that reading is the gateway to learning, imagination and lifelong success. Our Reading Ambassadors play a vital role in promoting a love of reading across the school community.

 Who Are Reading Ambassadors?

Reading Ambassadors are enthusiastic, responsible pupils who are passionate about books and reading. They are selected from across the school to act as role models and reading champions, helping to inspire their peers and support reading initiatives.

📖 What Do They Do?

Our Reading Ambassadors take on a variety of exciting responsibilities, including:

Promoting a Reading Culture: Encouraging others to read for pleasure and sharing book recommendations.

Supporting Younger Readers: Listening to younger pupils read and helping them build confidence.

Organising Events: Helping to plan and run book fairs, reading challenges, and World Book Day celebrations.

Library Helpers: Assisting in the school library by organising books and helping classmates find great reads.

What You’ll Find on This Page:

  • Meet Our Reading Ambassadors – Discover who they are and what inspires their love of reading.
  • What They Do – Learn about the exciting ways they support reading in school.
  • Reading Events & Initiatives – Highlights from book fairs, author visits, and reading challenges.

🌱 Why It Matters

By empowering pupils to take an active role in promoting reading, we foster leadership, communication skills, and a sense of responsibility. Most importantly, our Reading Ambassadors help create a school environment where reading is celebrated and enjoyed by all.

What are we working on?

We are introducing a whole school reading reward system called 'Reading Champions', to promote home reading. If a child reads at home three times, they will receive a Reading Champion stamp and 5 Class Dojos for their house.
