The EYFS Team are taking part in the year-long Step into Quality Award training, with the Early Years Team from Lancashire County Council. The quality improvement programme has been extremely successful in raising standards in the early years in Lancashire schools. ‘Step into Quality’ involves whole team reflection on provision and practice. It has been proven that through this systematic approach of self evaluation, the principles of the EYFS have become embedded in practice, improving outcomes for children. The programme considers conditions for learning through a number of ‘steps’. These include: Indoor and outdoor learning environments Routines Interactions The keyperson approach Partnership with parents Leadership and management Learning and development Transitions We can’t wait to see how they continue to embed this approach in our Nursery and Reception setting.
