Geography
I made the earth and created man on it; it was my hands that stretched out the heavens, and I commanded all their host.

At St Anne's Roman Catholic Primary School, we envision a Geography curriculum that nurtures curious, knowledgeable, and responsible global citizens within a Catholic framework. Our intent is to provide pupils with a deep understanding of the world in which they live, emphasising the interconnectedness of people, places, and cultures. We aim to:
- Foster a Sense of Place: Develop pupils' awareness and appreciation of their local area and beyond, exploring the cultural and physical geography that shapes their lives.
- Instil Environmental Stewardship: Encourage a respect for the environment and promote sustainability, aligning our teachings with Catholic Social Teaching principles, including care for creation.
- Promote Inclusivity: Ensure that all pupils, regardless of background or ability, can engage with and succeed in Geography, celebrating diversity in our geographical contexts.
- Encourage Critical Thinking: Equip pupils with the skills to question, analyse, and understand geographical issues, empowering them to form their own opinions supported by evidence.
- Reflect the Image of God: Recognise that as stated in Genesis 1:27, all humans are created in the image of God, fostering an understanding of the dignity of every person and their relationship with the environment.
